Session 1: An Introduction to Medical Research

The first in a new series  aimed to provide practical guidance and resources towards published. 

Through this new series we hope to support the research process, increase your critical appraisal skills, foster collaboration and knowledge dissemination, and ultimately facilitate more publications in RRM.

This session will:

  • Identify types of research designs, with the strengths and limitations of each
  • Introduce some common biases in resarech
  • Determine the difference between Quality Improvement Data, Reports & Research
  • Determine when IRB is required for your project and the application process
  • Introduce a new series aimed at supporting the research process, facilitating more publications in RRM
  • Identify the areas of need in RRM-specific research
  • Take questions and collect feedback to incorporate in future sessions


Ask IRRMA: Case-Based Discussions

Discuss your diagnostic and therapeutic challenges among members of the RRM community. 

 

Our first case looks into the physiology of progesterone on neural receptors, and the impact of the menstrual cycle on seizures with a discussion of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) as an additional factor. 

 

We then open the floor  - you are invited to prepare a case using a template here or join in more open discussions (no preparation or slides needed).

IRRMA members, and those that are unable to join live, can also continue to post and exchange insights on cases or topics in the community case forum.
