ReMEDY: Preparing a Case Report for Publication – online workshop

Case studies, or a series of cases, are an excellent way to get started in medical writing toward publication and contribute to the advancement of medical literature in this area. This workshop will walk through preparing a case report for publication.

The session will cover:

• case study basics such as, “What makes a good case and how do I know if it may be publishable?”, “When do I need IRB/REB or patient permission?”
• structure and format with the use of a standard template. If you already have a case or work-in-progress case we encourage you to bring it and work through
• navigating the publication process, including a review of journals accepting case reports as well as costs and requirements you may encounter
• questions, feedback, and discussion on current or prospective projects
