Ask IRRMA & Monthly Case Discussions

Ask IRRMA is a case-based discussion series bringing together clinicians and other allied health providers practicing or interested in restorative reproductive medicine.  Members are invited to prepare and present a case and discuss their diagnostic and therapeutic challenges among members of the RRM community.  These sessions are meant to be informal to generate ideas and build on each other’s experiences and knowledge.  If you don’t have much time to prepare, you can still join and ask questions, seek advice on a case or offer your knowledge to others.

If you would like to prepare  or share a case, you can use your slides or chart information and send us an email (support@irrma.org) ahead of the case discussion.  We also have a case template for download here. Please remove any patient identifiers before sharing.

IIRRM, IRRMA and FACTS each offer quarterly case discussions and invite members of all organizations to attend – allowing for a monthly exchange and support with you cases and mentorship to those new to the field or in early practice.  Register below for upcoming dates.

Case Discussions

IRRMA members can join case discussions each month at the times listed above. In addition to the quarterly case discussions hosted by IRRMA, members can also join case discussions hosted by the International Institute for Restorative Reproductive Medicine and Facts About Fertility.  Topics and cases discussed focus in the area of restorative reproductive medicine (RRM) and women’s healthcare.

What is RRM?

Restorative reproductive medicine (RRM) takes a patient-centered approach to address reproductive health problems, including male and female infertility and women’s health conditions, such as PCOS, endometriosis, and PMS.  RRM focuses on investigations and treatments that identify and correct abnormalities, which in turn restore and/or optimize normal reproductive function as well as overall health.

Can I watch a recording later?  How long are the case discussions?

These discussions are live only and run for approximately 1 hour.  When possible, please turn on your camera.  You can also unmute to talk, raise your hand to speak or use the live chat to share files and documents.  The host may mute your microphone if there is background noise when you are not speaking.

Present a case or “Ask IRRMA

You are invited to prepare a case following the general format of presenting the patient’s chief complaint, and medical and charting history, followed by the next clinical steps and hypothesizing differential diagnoses and treatment planning.  Meetings are informal and aim to generate ideas and build on each other’s experiences and knowledge.  If you don’t have much time to prepare, you can still join and ask questions, seek advice on a case or offer your knowledge to others. If you would like to prepare a case please email us at support@irrma.org. Templates are also available here.

What type of case should I select?

This is an informal setting, so it is up to you but consider cases you think are interesting or unique.  It may be a case you are struggling with or looking for other treatment options and approaches.  It could also be a patient case that went well and articulates something you learned in the process you think other members may benefit.
